1. Seal the Small Gaps Scouts Use to Sneak In
Ants don’t just walk through the front door. An entire ant trail starts with a single scout squeezing through a microscopic crack in your window frame, a worn-out door sweep, or the gap where utility lines enter your walls.
Take a quick walk around your kitchen’s exterior foundation this weekend. A quick dab of outdoor-rated silicone caulk around window sills and baseboard gaps cuts off their highway before they ever lay down a trail for the rest of the colony.
2. Target Hidden Moisture Sources Around the Sink
While food is a huge draw, moisture can be just as important to ants.
A tiny leak under your kitchen sink, a dripping faucet, or condensation around a dish drainer can provide the water ants are looking for.
